Step into the inner chambers of Villa Adriana in AD 134, where Emperor Hadrian mourns his beloved Antinoös. After his lover’s untimely death on the Nile, the emperor filled the Roman world with statues carved in his likeness. Peau (“skin”) translates this devotion into scent: salty, peppery and musky notes trace the contours of an idealized body, conjuring the warmth of bare skin and the longing of a lost embrace.

Fragrance Story

Imagine Hadrian standing before a marble statue of Antinoös; he closes his eyes and recalls the scent of his lover’s neck—the softness of musk, the dry heat of white pepper, the briny whisper of sea‑swept skin. Peau captures this intimate memory. Ambergris and a clean musk accord suggest the nape of the neck; clary sage and white pepper lend herbal spice; labdanum and okoume wood wrap the fragrance in leathery warmth, preserving the memory of touch.
